ok, so im in his bedroom, and the suns beaming the a part of the window, the cats have managed to move a part of fabric away from, so they cn bask in the suns rays as it shines and warms up the window this winter (2011), and im thinking..
"ya know? i bet my kid would LOVE some ICP curtains, if i made them out of...ICP BANDANNAS!"
so, that got me to thinking of all the ways i could produce such an idea, and keep it fairly low cost to myself, and not break the household bank to make this for him.
ICP bandannas are like any other LABELED product, your paying for the logo and the name basically, and the rate of a bandanna can be as high as 15 bucks from them.
i scoured EBAY.com for anyone who might be selling a lot of them, unsuccessfully for a few days now. and when i do a general search, im coming up short there as well...
these things seem to have gone into hiding the moment i thought this idea up..lol
i have the idea in my mind, so i decide to go see if there was anything online about making bandanna curtains...and i found ONE idea...
similar to the thought i had...
im liking the tabs at the top, but i was thinking instead of just one bandanna, id do two for each pannel...giving the curtain MORE visual.
or allowing for MORE ICP bandannas to be seen.
so the image in the above provided picture would be the whole of one panel for one half of the curtain, instead of just one curtain for the window itself (as shown).
ok, then i got to thinking about expanding the idea into a bedspread so it would MATCH something in the room, and feel more..well...connected. besides connecting to all the posters and action figures, and Cds from this band, i wanted to be able to give my kid something hed really like to have and would be honored to have and be proud it came from me.
so, i looked for anything about making a bandanna bedspread/blanket
came across this idea:
and another picture with the curtains....a bit longer than im willing to go, and still just one bandanna per panel..i want 4 per panel. 2x2.
the ICP bandannas are roughly 20x20 a piece. 2 of them (or 4 all together) would be 40x40.
i might, change my mind when i actually start this project for his curtains, and feel a 40x40 half curtain would be way too much.
20x20 is almost 2 feet on its own.
2 of those panels would equal nearly 4 feet across. and i believe windows arnt usually that wide.
well just have to see.
whenever i can score some bandannas from someone.
